The 10-second test

People who can't balance on one foot for 10 seconds are 84% more likely to die from any cause.

British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2022. 1,702 adults. Seven years of data. A stronger predictor than grip strength, walking speed, or standard fitness markers.

Try it right now.

Stand on one leg. Count to ten. Did your tongue press to the roof of your mouth? Did you hold your breath? Was one leg dramatically different from the other? That is your nervous system revealing itself to you. The Pivot is built to deepen that conversation.

The Games Are the Method

Start mild. Grow wild.

Standing on The Pivot is just the beginning. Add a task. Count. Catch a ball. Hum. Close your eyes. Every layer forces a different brain network to negotiate with your balance. That negotiation is where neuroplasticity happens.

What happens

One foot on top. One foot free. Those are the only instructions.

The Pivot doesn't just train balance. It creates conditions where the nervous system teaches itself to organize. This is why play works where protocols fail.

👅

Your Tongue Moves First

Faster Than Thought

The response happens before your conscious mind registers the wobble. A continuous fascial chain from your sole to your tongue transmitted the signal. You did not tell it to move.

🧬

Five Cranial Nerves

One Structure

Hypoglossal. Trigeminal. Facial. Glossopharyngeal. Vagus. No other structure in the body connects motor control, sensory processing, autonomic regulation, and emotional state in a single node.

Whole Chain Wakes Up

Sole to Skull

A continuous line of connective tissue runs from the sole of your foot through your deep calf, through your diaphragm, through your throat, to your tongue. One input at the bottom. The whole chain responds.

Three foot positions. Three conversations with gravity.

🐵

Monkey Toes

Toes · Anterior Chain

Roll forward and your toes grip. Primate grasping reflex. Your body reaches for the world.

🦎

Lizard Brain

Heel · Posterior Chain

Roll back and you gasp. Reptilian startle response. Your body braces for a fall that is not coming.

🧠

Deep Stabilizers

Midfoot · Integration

Find the midfoot and muscles fire that most people cannot consciously contract. Integration.

Three positions. Three neural organizations. One foot. The science goes deeper below.

This is not speculative

The tongue-balance connection runs through a documented fascial chain that anatomy researchers have mapped in detail. The involuntary tongue activation from balance challenge is measurable and repeatable. Licensed medical devices already use this pathway. The Pivot is built on established science, applied in a way nobody has applied it before: through play, from a free tool with $29 of training, with one foot always free.

Four tools. One Pivot.

And people keep finding new ways to play with it.

Balance

Curved side up, foot on top. Three positions, three neural organizations. Where monkey toes meet lizard brain. Where coordination intelligence begins.

🦶

Massage

Flat side up, foot on the base. 200,000 nerve endings meet a curved surface. Plantar fascia release. Start here if balance feels too intense.

🔄

Roll

On its side, under your foot. Targets lateral fascia, peroneal tendons, intrinsic foot muscles. Deep relief for tight feet. Seated or standing.

🧘

Stretch

Ball of foot on top, heel drops to floor. Deep calf and Achilles stretch. Therapeutic and self-directed. The mode people use most and talk about least.

"I pay $200 an hour for bodywork that starts from a similar premise. The training is $29 and the tool is free and my nervous system figured it out on its own."

Plantar fasciitis recovery

The claims. The evidence.

Life-saving. Brain-boosting. Body-building. Those are not marketing words. Each one is backed by peer-reviewed research and mechanistically distinct pathways through the human body.

A wobble board is a drill.
The Pivot is a conversation.

A wobble board locks both feet in and repeats the same challenge. The person gets faster at the response they already had. The Pivot frees one foot and never presents the same challenge twice. The nervous system must generate new solutions in real time. Nobody coached it. The geometry presented a problem and the body's own intelligence solved it.

That is the difference between reflex conditioning and coordination intelligence. Balance is the entry point. Coordination is the territory. Play is the method.

Life-Saving

Your balance predicts your future. The Pivot changes both.

84% higher all-cause mortality risk

A 2022 study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine followed 1,702 adults for seven years. Those who could not hold a 10-second one-legged stance had an 84% higher risk of all-cause mortality. A stronger predictor than grip strength, walking speed, or standard fitness markers.

Single-leg balance doesn't just test balance. It is a systems-level readout. When you stand on one foot, your cerebellar, vestibular, cardiovascular, proprioceptive, and cognitive systems must coordinate simultaneously. If any one of them has degraded, the stance fails. The 84% correlation exists because the test reveals the coordination state of the entire organism.

Balance holds relatively steady through your 50s. Then it falls off a cliff. By the early 60s, nearly 1 in 5 adults cannot hold the stance. By the early 70s, more than half cannot. The decline is not gradual. It is sudden, steep, and trainable at every point on the curve.

Three positions, three recovery patterns

Falls happen in three directions. Forward, backward, and lateral. The human body has a different recovery strategy for each. The Pivot trains all three.

🐵

Forward

Toes grip. Hands reach. Primate grasping reflex. Anterior chain.

🦎

Backward

Heels brace. Spine stiffens. Reptilian startle response. Posterior chain.

🧠

Lateral

Deep stabilizers fire. The muscles most people cannot consciously contract.

A person who has only ever trained on flat stable ground has never rehearsed any of these recovery patterns under real instability. The Pivot builds that library. Every session deposits another set of solutions.

The safety architecture

One foot is always free. Every two-footed balance board has a dismount problem. If you lose balance, you fall. The Pivot inverts this. One foot on the tool, one foot ready to step down at any instant. The brain shifts from protection mode to discovery mode. An 83-year-old plays on it without fear. A child with coordination challenges stabilizes on it within minutes.

36 million Americans over 65 fall each year. Falls are the leading cause of injury death in that population. The annual medical cost exceeds $50 billion. The training is $29. The Pivot is free. Shipping is free.

Brain-Boosting

Twelve mechanisms converge on one object.

The Pivot simultaneously activates at least twelve mechanistically distinct pathways through the human nervous system. Each is documented. Each is peer-reviewed. None of them require instructions. Tap any card to go deeper.

12 peer-reviewed mechanisms
01

Fascial chain activation from foot to tongue

The tongue moves because it is physically connected to the foot through continuous connective tissue.

Fascia contains six to ten times more sensory nerve endings than muscle. The deep front line runs from the plantar surface through the deep posterior compartment, through the diaphragm, through the pericardium, through the pharynx, to the tongue. The Ruffini endings in that fascia are primarily responsible for proprioceptive awareness and parasympathetic tone. Stimulating them through the foot shifts autonomic state.

02

Ventral vagal state induction

One foot free means neuroception reads safety. People laugh. That is neuroplasticity's prerequisite.

Laughter is a ventral vagal behavior. It is physiological proof that the nervous system has entered the only state in which neuroplasticity actually occurs. Every two-footed balance board locks both feet in. Neuroception reads threat. Heart rate variability drops. Inflammation increases. The Pivot inverts this. One foot can step down at any instant. The ventral vagal circuit opens.
tap to expand
03

Self-organizing conditions

Not training balance. Creating conditions where the nervous system teaches itself to organize.

Reflex conditioning is not the same as self-organization. Those are completely different neurological events. Feldenkrais, Rolf, and Bainbridge Cohen have been teaching this for decades: you do not fix the body. You create conditions where the body discovers its own better organization. The Pivot is that principle in the shape of a tool backed by 22 peer-reviewed mechanisms and a 7-module training program.
tap to expand
04

Dual-task neuroplasticity

Balance plus a second task fires your prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate, and cerebellum simultaneously.

A 44-study meta-analysis confirmed that dual-task training improved balance, mobility, and cognition. Both motor and cognitive components improved independently. The Pivot's stacking methodology (count, catch, hum, close your eyes, spin, music) turns this into daily play. The negotiation between the balance demand and the cognitive task is where new neural pathways form.
tap to expand
05

Asymmetric vestibular stimulation

One foot challenged, one foot still. The two sides of the brain must reconcile different gravitational signals.

The vestibular system feeds into nearly every cortical process. When vestibular input degrades, hippocampal volume decreases, spatial memory declines, anxiety increases. The Pivot creates continuously varying vestibular challenge under one foot while the other labyrinth receives only the postural echo. That asymmetric input forces interhemispheric negotiation, one of the primary drivers of cerebellar plasticity.
tap to expand
06

Mechanotransduction and BDNF upregulation

Foot deformation triggers the gene transcription cascade that produces the brain's primary growth factor.

Novel mechanical loading activates integrins, fires MAPK pathways and calcium signaling, and upregulates BDNF. The pathway runs from integrin activation to increased synaptogenesis and dendritic branching in the hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, and cerebellum. BDNF decline is one of the earliest molecular markers in Alzheimer's progression.
tap to expand
07

Five cranial nerve gateway

Five cranial nerves converge at the tongue. The Pivot activates all five through the involuntary tongue press.

Hypoglossal, trigeminal, facial, glossopharyngeal, and vagus. This convergence makes the tongue a uniquely dense neural node connecting motor control, sensory processing, autonomic regulation, and emotional state. You are getting cranial nerve work that happens to use the leg as the trigger.
tap to expand
08

Auto-calibrating challenge point

Same object meets every skill level. The geometry does the calibrating. No trainer required.

The challenge point framework in motor learning shows optimal learning occurs when task difficulty matches the learner's current skill level. An elite gymnast finds one conversation with gravity. An 83-year-old finds a completely different one. Same curved surface. Different challenge point. No protocol required.
tap to expand
09

Pain system recalibration

Escapable novelty resolves sensitization. Inescapable threat amplifies it. One foot is always free.

Chronic pain is almost never about ongoing tissue damage. It is a nervous system that has lost the ability to distinguish threat from non-threat. Novel, non-threatening sensory input retrains it. The Pivot delivers a controlled sensory flood from a position of safety. The brain never reads the situation as inescapable.
tap to expand
10

Presymptomatic neurodegeneration detection

Balance deterioration precedes cognitive diagnosis by 7 to 12 years. The Smart Pivot generates exactly this data stream. Passively. Longitudinally. From unstructured play.

Gait variability, postural sway, and dual-task cost are among the earliest detectable biomarkers of neurological decline. Earlier than memory tests. Earlier than brain imaging in many cases.
tap to expand
11

Trust-building through the wobble-recovery cycle

The body does not learn balance. It learns trust. Trust in its own reflexes. Trust in the surface. Trust in the recovery.

The wobble, the recovery, the wobble, the recovery: that cycle IS the trust-building cycle. Most training programs take weeks to build this trust. The Pivot takes seconds.
tap to expand
12

Three neural organizations in one tool

Toes: primate grasping reflex, anterior chain. Heels: reptilian startle response, posterior chain. Midfoot: deep stabilizer integration. Three positions. Three neural organizations. One foot.

The nervous system learns to move between all three fluidly. That fluidity is coordination. No other single tool trains all three recovery organizations simultaneously.

Body-Building

Ten mechanisms remodel the body from the foot up.

The brain-boosting pathways change how the nervous system processes. The body-building pathways change the physical structures themselves. Bone density. Tendon thickness. Cartilage nutrition. Muscle recruitment. Receptor density. Cortical mapping. Lymphatic flow. The Pivot doesn't just exercise the body. It remodels it.

10 peer-reviewed mechanisms
01

Bone remodeling through Wolff's Law

Full bodyweight through one limb on a curved surface. The loading vector never repeats.

Osteocytes sense strain. Osteoblasts deposit mineral where load is applied. Osteoclasts remove it where load is absent. The foot, ankle, tibia, and femur receive mechanical signals from angles that flat ground never presents. The standard recommendation for osteoporosis is weight-bearing exercise. The Pivot is weight-bearing exercise with continuously novel loading vectors. Not repetition. Variation.
tap to expand
02

Intrinsic foot muscle activation

29 muscles in the foot. The intrinsic ones have been silenced by modern footwear. The Pivot wakes them up.

Patrick McKeon's "foot core" research established that these muscles form a functional subsystem analogous to the deep trunk core. They control arch stiffness, distribute ground reaction forces, and provide sensory feedback the rest of the kinetic chain depends on. They respond to demand with measurable hypertrophy and strength gains. A stronger foot core changes everything above it.
tap to expand
03

Cartilage nutrition through cyclic loading

Cartilage has no blood supply. Each wobble compresses one surface and feeds another.

Without varied mechanical loading, cartilage starves. The chondrocytes cannot maintain the extracellular matrix. The tissue thins. The ankle complex, subtalar joint, midtarsal joints, and metatarsophalangeal joints are all being cyclically loaded through varied ranges on the Pivot. Each wobble compresses one articular surface and decompresses another. Nobody is talking about balance training as a cartilage nutrition strategy. The mechanobiology says they should be.
tap to expand
04

Deep hip stabilizer recruitment

Six deep rotators under the glutes. Chronically dormant in chair-sitters. The Pivot forces their recruitment.

Piriformis, obturator internus and externus, superior and inferior gemelli, quadratus femoris. They stabilize the femoral head in the acetabulum, control pelvic rotation, and organize the relationship between trunk and standing leg. The Pivot reaches them without targeting them. It reaches them by creating a problem only they can solve.
tap to expand
05

Tendon remodeling and collagen synthesis

Three modes load three tendon groups through novel ranges. Eccentric loading is the gold standard.

Stretch mode drops the heel below the contact point, applying an eccentric load to the Achilles and soleus. Eccentric loading is the gold standard intervention for Achilles tendinopathy. Balance mode loads the peroneals through lateral weight shifts. Roll mode applies direct mechanical pressure to the plantar fascia, stimulating fibroblast activity and collagen turnover. Three modes. Three tendon remodeling pathways.
tap to expand
06

Synovial fluid production

Most people use 15% of their ankle range. The Pivot asks for the rest. Dormant joints wake up.

Moving joints through novel ranges stimulates the type B synoviocytes. Hyaluronic acid and lubricin production increases. Fluid volume increases. Viscosity improves. Joint surfaces glide instead of grind. Inversion, eversion, dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, and every diagonal between them. The joint wakes up. That is not a metaphor. It is a measurable change in fluid composition and volume.
tap to expand
07

Proprioceptor upregulation

Four receptor types in the foot sole. Novel stimulation upregulates their density. A more sensitive foot.

Meissner's corpuscles detect light touch and texture changes. Merkel discs register sustained pressure. Pacinian corpuscles sense deep vibration. Ruffini endings track skin stretch. A flat floor activates a narrow slice. The Pivot's curved surface activates all four simultaneously and continuously. The receptor population remodels in response to demand, just like muscle.
tap to expand
08

Cortical body map expansion

The foot gets a bigger piece of the brain's real estate. Body-building in the most literal sense.

Penfield mapped the somatosensory homunculus. Merzenich proved it was plastic. The Pivot delivers the kind of complex, varied, three-dimensional input to the foot that the hand gets every day from object manipulation. The foot gets a bigger piece of the brain's real estate. That is body-building in the most literal sense: building the body's representation inside the brain.
tap to expand
09

Lymphatic and venous return

The calf is the second heart. Three modes drive three distinct pumping mechanisms. The fluid moves.

Balance work drives rhythmic calf pumping. Massage mode applies direct pressure to the plantar venous plexus. Stretch mode loads the soleus through its full length, changing the mechanical advantage of the pump. Three modes, three pumping mechanisms. The fluid moves.
tap to expand
10

Muscle spindle recalibration

Novel loading recalibrates every spindle in the chain. Resting tone rewrites from the ground up.

Recalibration does not stop at the ankle. The kinetic chain runs from the plantar fascia through the deep posterior compartment, through the hamstrings, through the paraspinals, to the suboccipitals at the base of the skull. When spindle sensitivity changes at the foot, resting tone changes throughout the entire chain. This is one of the mechanisms behind the "everything feels different after" effect people report. It is not placebo.

⚠️

Falls. Swallowing problems. Sleep disorders. Coordination loss.

These are not separate conditions. They are all expressions of systems that have stopped talking to each other. When you cannot balance on one foot, that is not a balance problem. It is a signal that your cerebellar, vestibular, cardiovascular, and cognitive systems have disconnected.

The Pivot reveals where the disconnection is. The tongue reveals how deep it goes. The reconnection happens through play.

The 12 brain-boosting mechanisms address the neural layer. The 10 body-building mechanisms address the structural layer. The life-saving data proves the stakes. Disconnection is the disease. Integration is the only treatment. The Pivot creates the conditions for both to become visible.

The Pivot does not fix any of these. It reveals the common thread beneath all of them.

The Method

Unstructured play that creates radical balance for life.

Every balance program fails the same way. People stop.

The dropout rate for community fall prevention programs averages 40 to 60 percent within six months. Every health device, every protocol, every initiative. Same failure mode. Adherence.

The Pivot solves this by design. Not through gamification. Not through reminders. Through format. The oscillation between challenge and recovery IS play. You cannot comply with play. Compliance requires a protocol. Play dissolves protocol. The format is incompatible with the failure mode.

One foot on. Play. Step off. The Smart Pivot knows which foot, which zone, which session. The person never followed a protocol. They just played. And the device listened.

Clinical-grade data from unstructured play.

Where this is going

The Pivot you see today is the beginning.

It started as a single curved surface. One foot. One question. Can you find your balance here? That question turned out to be far more interesting than we expected. Because the answer changes depending on who is standing on it. And sitting on it. And rolling it under their foot at a desk. So we stopped thinking of The Pivot as a product and realized it was the first piece in a game.

The Modular PlatformSwappable bases. Different conversations with gravity.

The curve underneath The Pivot is what gives it its character. A shorter base creates a gentler rock. A taller base creates more dynamic range. More challenge. More information flowing between your body and the surface. Same Pivot on top. Different conversation underneath.

We are building a modular system around this idea. Swappable bases. Different heights. Different profiles. The entry point is gentle enough for someone who has never stood on an unstable surface in their life. The upper range is dynamic enough to challenge anyone.

This changes who The Pivot is for. And what it is for.

Place a meditation cushion on a wider platform build and sit on it. Now the conversation is not about your feet at all. It is about your hips. Your pelvis finding its center over the curve. Your spine stacking itself without being told to. The subtle rotation between your knees as your body negotiates balance from a completely different orientation. The Pivot becomes a seated meditation balance board. Eyes closed. Breath slow. The whole dialogue moves upstream from the ankle to the core.

Someone recovering from an ankle surgery can start with the gentlest base and progress as their body allows. Someone with a mobility difference can work with a wider platform and a low-profile base that keeps the angles safe and the experience real. Someone sitting in a chair can roll it under their foot and get fascial release, ankle mobility, and sensory input without ever standing up. Someone pushing the edge of their proprioception can swap in a taller base and find a whole new conversation with gravity.

It is all the same system. The architecture just meets you where you are.

This is not theoretical. We are in active development with real people, solving real problems, learning what the platform wants to become. Hand-selected wood. Larger surface areas. Two-footed configurations. Designs that accommodate specific bodies and specific needs.

Hand-selected cherry platform showing rich wood grain detail

Hand-selected cherry platform in development

Two-footed platform configuration in use

The nervous system does not care about your diagnosis. Gravity is the same for everyone. The question is whether the tool lets you meet it. We think it should.

A New BiomarkerComing soon.

The Smart Pivot is being designed to measure something about the nervous system that has never been measured before. We are co-developing the methodology with research partners. Details will be published when the measurement architecture is validated.

If you work with bodies for a living and want to shape the measurement protocol, get in touch.

Coordination Reserve as a Health MetricThe drop that predicts everything.

How much does adding a second task degrade your balance? That drop predicts fall risk, cognitive decline, athletic ceiling, and longevity. Tracked over months and years, it becomes one of the most sensitive readouts of nervous system health.

Already in the FieldOne unit in a teachers' lounge became over twenty.

This isn't theoretical. We've already run pilot studies tracking blood pressure, mood, and stress in school teachers using the deep infrared platform. One unit in a teachers' lounge became over twenty. The school bought them. That's what happens when nervous system tools meet real populations with real data.

Two Pivots. No Free Foot. The hidden level most people never discover.

One foot on, one foot free. That is the safety architecture. That is where most people live. Two Pivots removes the free foot. Both feet are on independent curved surfaces simultaneously. The nervous system cannot default to "I can step off." Both sides must self-organize at the same time.

A wobble board is one platform, two feet, one shared surface. Both feet negotiate the same problem together. The stronger foot carries the weaker one. The asymmetry hides. Two Pivots are two independent surfaces. Each foot has its own conversation with its own geometry. The left cannot help the right. Your bilateral asymmetry is not just revealed. It is felt in real time, simultaneously, with full resolution.

Stance width. Stance angle. Breath pattern. Three variables, infinite configurations, two identical objects. The person who built this system was standing on both of them during a casual conversation. That is coordination capacity most people will never develop. It is also the reason someone who buys one Pivot comes back for a second.

The Game SystemThe Pivot is the first piece. The game is the full expression.

The Pivot is one piece in a modular coordination play system. Rollers in multiple sizes. Platforms. Staves that double as musical instruments. Padded swords and shields. Configurable arenas on interlocking tiles. Physical tokens earned during play.

Four game modes. Puzzle: throw the pieces out, organize the chaos without touching the ground. Arena: head-to-head runs, relays, mini-golf variants. Combat: padded weapons on unstable terrain. Freestyle: no rules, pure discovery.

The game is built on a premise everyone already knows. The floor is lava. That single constraint, the ground is dangerous, find another way, forces the nervous system to solve problems it has never encountered with whatever is available. Every principle that coordination science has identified is already present in a game that six-year-olds play without being taught.

The Pivot is the entry point. The game system is the destination. Explore the World of Lava →

If you work with bodies for a living, you already felt what this does.

We're building partnerships with practitioners and researchers who want to shape the measurement protocol. If you already use infrared, breathwork, or any modality that shifts autonomic state, The Pivot gives you a way to see what that shift does to coordination in real time. The Pivot creates productive instability. Deep infrared creates productive stillness. Together, they're a session architecture.

Meet the Inventor

Ryan Today playing ukulele while balancing on one leg

25 years in rooms with people whose nervous systems had stopped talking to themselves.

Addiction. Mania. Grief. Chronic pain. Elite athletics. Different rooms, same conversation: how well do your body's systems talk to each other, and what happens when they stop?

It started with a didgeridoo on the streets. Circular breathing. Tongue work. Playing rhythmically changed my state in ways that persisted for hours. That led to ultradian rhythms, deep infrared, and finally The Pivot, which connected the whole picture: the challenge that reveals the disconnection, the tongue that bridges the systems, the play that teaches the body to reconnect itself.

Questions

How is this different from a wobble board?

A wobble board creates bilateral instability on a flat plane with both feet locked in. The Pivot creates 3D rotational instability under one foot while the other stays free. That safety architecture shifts the brain from protection to discovery. Plus four modes, the stacking methodology, and the nervous system response it reveals.

What ages and abilities can use it?

All of them. Children with coordination challenges stabilize on it. An 83-year-old poet plays on it daily. Athletes find their edge. Start with massage mode (flat side up) or seated with a chair nearby. The Pivot adapts because it creates conditions, not instructions.

When does the OG Pivot ship?

Your training starts immediately after checkout. Your free OG Pivot is handcrafted at community build parties. When you order, you're added to the build list. If units are ready from the last build, yours ships right away with free shipping. Otherwise, expect yours within 30 days. Full refund available any time before shipment. Every OG Pivot is numbered and limited edition. The OG Pivot is a handcrafted prototype. The production design — featuring injection-molded construction, a twist-top removable cap, internal storage, and new manufacturing processes — is in active development. Design and utility patent applications are being prepared for the production version.

Why is the Pivot free?

Because what matters right now is getting it under feet. The training is $29 because it is 7 modules of real work drawn from 25 years in the room. But the tool itself? Free. Shipping? Free. $29 total. This is the pre-launch window. The OG Pivot is a handcrafted prototype. We are building toward the production design — injection molded, twist-top removable cap, new materials — along with the Smart Pivot and Pivot Pop. Once manufacturing scales, The Pivot will retail at $29. Right now, the mission matters more than the margin. This is a lifesaving, brain-boosting, body-building toy. The more people playing, the closer we get to the world the lava games are built for. I need more players.

Where does my $29 go?

100% of preorder money goes directly to product development and manufacturing. No salaries. No overhead. Every dollar funds injection molding, the Smart Pivot sensor platform, and getting the next generation into production. That is also why we can guarantee a full refund at any point. If you change your mind, you get your money back. No questions. Ryan goes live nearly every week to give updates, answer questions, and share what the community is building together. The OG Pivot is the working prototype. Every dollar accelerates the transition from handcrafted prototype to production design.

What about plantar fasciitis and tight feet?

Start with massage mode (flat side up) or roll mode (on its side). Some people can't tolerate full body weight at first. That's diagnostic information. The progression from "I can barely stand on this" to "this feels amazing" IS the fascia releasing.

What is disconnection syndrome?

When a person can't balance on one foot, that's not a balance problem. It's a signal that multiple systems have stopped communicating: cerebellar, vestibular, cardiovascular, cognitive. Falls and swallowing problems and sleep disorders and coordination loss aren't separate conditions. They're all expressions of systems that have disconnected from each other. The Pivot reveals where the disconnection is. The stacking methodology quantifies it. The measurement platform tracks reconnection over time. We didn't name it. The body did. We just built a tool that makes it visible.

Why does balance predict mortality?

A 2022 study found that inability to hold a 10-second one-legged stance correlated with an 84% higher risk of all-cause death. Balance is a systems-level readout reflecting cerebellar, vestibular, cardiovascular, and cognitive function simultaneously. It measures coordination, not just balance.

What is deep infrared and how does it relate to The Pivot?

Deep infrared is a reliable way to shift your nervous system into a calm state. It drops blood pressure, eases pain and inflammation, and settles the mind, all in minutes. It's not just recovery. People use it before and after their Pivot practice, and on its own. The Pivot creates productive instability. Deep infrared creates productive stillness. They're complementary tools for the same nervous system. Learn more at RelaxInfrared.com.
